Feeling Anxious About Back To School Tips

Feeling Anxious About Back-to-School? Here’s How to Shine!

All of us here at Fidelity On Call hope your summer has been fun, sunny, and full of joy.

With August here, the stores are beginning to line their shelves with school bags and books. The anticipation of the approaching school year is starting to buzz in the air!

We know this time of year can be wearisome, whether it’s your children beginning a new academic year or you returning to school as well.

However, it is important to look at this change with positivity. Setting new goals for yourself is important. Feeling anxious is normal, but education fosters growth and development and opens doors to new possibilities.

Here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • Take a deep breath. The changing of the seasons can trigger a lot of other changes in your life as well. Going back to school can cause anxiety or stress; however, keep in mind that these fresh opportunities can guide you toward your desired destination.
  • Drink plenty of water. When our thoughts are racing, we often overlook the most basic things. Pause for a moment to hydrate and calm your mind.
  • Make new friends. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to the people in your class, and encourage others who are beginning a new school year to do the same. Having a friend always makes the change easier.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Asking one question can significantly impact a classroom, an assignment, or even your connection with an individual or circumstance. The truth is, there was likely another person who had the same question in mind and is thankful you did.
  • Relax. Everything will work out. Pausing to breathe and understanding that everything will turn out fine can be the most important thing you can do to ensure a successful school year.

So, let’s approach this season with optimism and determination—your best self awaits!
