Our “It’s Time for Nashville” contest winner, Mary Rothrock, was kind enough to provide us with the following report and pictures from her recent trip to Nashville. Her prize included: A three day, two night stay at Gaylord’s Opryland Resort, tickets for the Opryland performance on Saturday night, and dinner before the show at the famous Old Hickory Steakhouse. Here’s what Mary had to say about her weekend getaway…
Thanks to the generosity of Fidelity On Call, my husband and I were able to have the experience of a lifetime in Nashville, TN. We arrived at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and were amazed by the beauty of the facility. It was simply enormous!
There are numerous gardens throughout the hotel that we roamed through for hours enjoying the creativity that went in to such expansive displays.
When we weren’t exploring the grounds, we were sightseeing some local venues. Saturday we spent the day taking in the scenery at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens. Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and museum which was the estate of Leslie and Mabel Creek (Maxwell House Coffee Creator). Below are some of our favorite pictures from our day touring the gardens and mansion.
Saturday night we ventured downtown to enjoy the absolute best dinner I have experienced. We dined at Bob’s Steak and Chop House. I devoured a prime filet mignon and sipped (guzzled, lol) a 40 year port that I had wanted to try. Both were mouth-watering. My hubby got choked up when he had the opportunity to try a Wagyu beef filet steak. He has wanted to try Wagyu beef for years and the night we were there it was the chef’s special.
And it didn’t end there; next up was the Grand Ole Opry. We spent over two hours laughing, singing along, and mesmerized that we were spectators in the Grand Ole Opry. It was a night we will talk about for years to come.
We appreciate everything that Fidelity provided for us to have a fun-filled weekend and look forward to next year’s contest.
